SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and general marketing strategy both aim to drive business growth, but they do so in distinct ways.
SEO focuses on increasing a website’s visibility on search engines like Google. It involves optimizing content with keywords, improving site speed, and securing backlinks, all to rank higher in search results. This targets potential customers actively searching for related products or services.
General marketing strategy, on the other hand, encompasses a broader range of activities. It includes traditional advertising (TV, radio), digital advertising (social media, email campaigns), public relations, content marketing, and more. These strategies aim to build brand awareness, engage a wider audience, and drive long-term growth.
So, while SEO is a specific tactic within a larger marketing plan, general marketing strategy includes all tactics to reach and engage with your audience.
They complement each other, and ideally, you'd use both: SEO to capture inbound leads and broader marketing to build your brand and reach more people.
